Are you looking for a special way to celebrate Remembrance Day? Nestling below the impressive ruins of Oystermouth Castle, just past The White Rose on Mumbles Road, you will find All Saints Church Oystermouth. This beautiful Church is part of the Mumbles community and has been a place of worship for over a thousand years. The Church itself is built on the site of a Roman settlement, dates back to the 13th Century and features a historic Roman tower and arcades. All Saints Church Oystermouth boasts a busy schedule of activities. There’s something for everyone from mothers and toddlers, junior church, fair trade and flower groups to Christian aid. They also hold Lectures, concerts and wonderful candlelit services. On Nov 11th they will celebrate Remembrance Day by hosting a fabulous evening Charity Concert. The concert will remember the past with music and also support worthwhile causes like “Help for Heroes”. This year it will also support the All Saints Restoration Appeal, which is currently in Phase Three of their ambitious project to fully restore the church. A simple loan. Or why not buy a £10 ticket and enjoy the evening? The wonderful Dunvant Male Choir will be supported by two young soloists, Nikkila Thomas and Dafydd Mills and a Brass Ensemble. Starting at 7 pm, the repertoire will include favourites like “Abide with Me” and feature a newly commissioned work entitled “Home”. Come early and help to “raise the roof” of this lovely historic church on Remembrance Day.
